ENROLLMENT               WAITLIST               TUITION              TOURS

Montpelier Children’s House is serves children aged two through five years. We are an Act 166 Pre-K partner.  Because we are a small program, we have a limited number of openings each year.

enrollment

Update as of 11/7/2024 - We are currently at capacity through September of 2025. That said, enrollment changes do happen and we are happy to place children on our waitlist should openings occur. Any program vacancies will be posted here as they occur.

When do you enroll new students?

We enroll new students as spots become available, which generally occurs between late June and August.

While we do maintain a waiting list, we generally do not have openings during the school year, which runs from September through end of June. From the beginning of July through August, we transition graduating students to Kindergarten, move children in our toddler program up to preschool, and welcome new enrollments as space becomes available. Generally, our first day of school aligns with Montpelier Public Schools.

How do I know you have openings?

If we have an immediate opening OR any anticipated future openings, this will be reflected here on our website.

What is your your enrollment process?

We enroll children on the waitlist in the following order: children of National Life employees, children of National Life tenant employees, children of siblings currently enrolled, siblings of MCH alumni, and enrollments from the community. We begin planning fall enrollment in the previous spring, and that is when we reach out to families at the top of the waitlist to confirm enrollment. At the time of enrollment, families will complete a full application and enrollment contract.

waitlist

You may submit a waitlist application at any time. We encourage submitting an application well in advance of the time when care will be needed. There is no such thing as applying too early! Waitlist priorities are as follows: 1. Children of National Life employees; 2. Children of MCH employees, 3. Siblings of currently enrolled students; 4. Children of MCH alumni; 5. Applicants from the general community.

To add your child to our waitlist, please complete and return the application below along with a nonrefundable $25 application fee.

Please note that our hours of operation are from 8:30 am to 4:00 pm and our school calendar most closely aligns with the Montpelier Roxbury School District.

(You will receive an email confirmation when your application is received.)

TUITION

All of our enrollments are for full-time attendance only. You are not required to have your child attend for all days that they are enrolled.

TUITION FEES FOR 2024-25 SCHOOL YEAR (effective 9/1/24)

For the 2024-25 school year we have implemented a tiered tuition plan, which will allow families who do not qualify for the Child Care Financial Assistance Program to pay a tuition rate that matches what CCFAP would pay. This will be volunatary for 2024-25, but in the future we may consider making it mandatory for higher-income families.

age group
Tuition Level 1
Tuition Level 2
Tuition Level 3
Toddler - 2 by 9/1/24
$346/week $396/week $443/week (CCFAP Reimbursement Rate)
Preschool - 3 by 9/1/24
$337/week $390/week $439/week (CCFAP Reimbursement Rate)
This is our basic, full time tuition. It allows families who do not qualify for CCFAP and who cannot afford the full tuition some financial flexibility. Paying this tuition level covers the current cost of expenses but does not allow us to keep up with rising costs. It does not allow for salary increases or additional benefits for teachers. Paying tuition at this rate covers rising costs of education. This includes increasing compensation and benefits to teachers.

TUITION ASSISTANCE

Montpelier Children’s House accepts state-funded Child Care Financial Assistance (CCFAP) and is also a pre-qualified provider to receive Universal Pre-K tuition payments under Act 166.  Act 166 tuition payments are available to children who are age 3 by September 1st of the school year.

2024-2025 Act 166 tuition payments totaling $3,884 are applied to tuition from September through June. Families are responsible for the full tuition amount for July and August.

For Montpelier Children’s House to receive tuition payments on behalf of your child, you must complete registration with your school district before the beginning of the school year.  Please contact your school district for more information.

SUMMER ENROLLMENT

Montpelier Children’s House is a year-round program, and returning students must be continuously enrolled through the summer to hold their enrollment spot.
